Russia expands list of unfriendly countries
Moscow has expanded the list of countries and territories unfriendly to Russia.
The list includes the islands of Guernsey and Maine, which supported the sanctions imposed by the UK against Russia, as well as the Bahamas, which imposed a ban on any transactions with the Bank of Russia, the Finance Ministry and a number of credit institutions, Gazeta.ru reports.
"The order was approved for the implementation of the Presidential Decree of March 5, 2022 'On the temporary procedure for fulfilling obligations to certain foreign creditors'," the Cabinet of Ministers website says.
On July 22, the Russian government expanded the list of unfriendly states to include Croatia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Greece and Denmark. The Russian authorities explained this by unfriendly actions of states that are directed against Russian diplomatic and consular missions abroad.
