Earthquake of magnitude 4.6 strikes Eastern Kazakhstan

An earthquake measuring 4.6 on the Richter scale has been recorded in Eastern Kazakhstan, approximately 20 kilometres from the city of Taldykorgan, which has a population of around 145,000 people.

The information comes from the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), Caliber.Az reports per foreign media.

The earthquake’s epicentre was located at a depth of 20 kilometres.

Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Emergency Situations has also confirmed the earthquake, stating that details are currently being clarified by the authorities.
