Russia extends full ban on petrol exports until January 2027

30 July 2026 20:28

Russia's government has approved a decree extending its full ban on petrol exports until January 31, 2027, according to a document published on the government's website.

The government said it had introduced a new temporary ban on the export of petrol, diesel fuel, marine fuel and gasoil to maintain stability in the domestic fuel market. Under the decree, the restrictions will remain in force from August 1, 2026 until January 31, 2027.

From September 1, however, diesel fuel, marine fuel and gasoil exported directly by their producers will be exempt from the ban.

The decree also allows fuel exports under international intergovernmental agreements and for humanitarian assistance to foreign countries, subject to separate government decisions.
