Russia extends visa-free entry for Chinese citizens through 2027

Russia has extended visa-free entry for Chinese citizens until December 31, 2027, under a decree signed by President Vladimir Putin and published on the official legal information portal.

The decree replaces the previous expiration date of September 14, 2026, with December 31, 2027.

In May, China also decided to extend its visa-free regime for Russian citizens through the end of 2027.

Putin signed the original decree on December 1, 2025, allowing Chinese citizens to enter Russia without a visa for stays of up to 30 days on the basis of reciprocity until September 14, 2026.

China introduced a corresponding visa-free regime for Russian nationals on September 15, 2025.
