Russia hails Türkiye–Armenia normalisation process as key to regional cooperation
Russia has welcomed the ongoing normalisation process between Armenia and Türkiye, according to a statement issued by the Russian Foreign Ministry ahead of Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan’s working visit to Moscow scheduled for June 15–17.
The statement emphasised that particular attention during the talks will be given to prospects for expanding cooperation in the South Caucasus.
“Particular attention will be given to prospects for expanding cooperation in the South Caucasus, including the unblocking of transport links and communications, and the post-conflict reconstruction of the region. Russia and Türkiye are interested in a peaceful and predictable South Caucasus. This can be achieved through joint efforts within the framework of the regional cooperation platform ‘3+3’. Russia welcomes the process of Armenia–Türkiye normalisation,” the ministry said.
