Russia hits Ukraine’s Sumy, infrastructure damaged, electricity disrupted
Russian forces carried out another drone attack on communities in Ukraine’s Sumy region late on 26 April, the head of the regional military administration, Oleh Hryhorov, announced.
In a Telegram post, he said that in the Romny community, infrastructure and nearby residential buildings were damaged as a result of drone strikes.
“People went to shelters in time. There were no injuries. A 55-year-old woman experienced an acute stress reaction. Medics provided the necessary assistance,” Hryhorov stated.
He added that residential areas were also damaged and that part of the population lost electricity due to the strikes.
“Part of the consumers has been left without electricity due to the shelling. Specialists will begin restoration work as soon as the security situation allows. In the Sumy community, Russian attacks caused damage to the residential sector as well as critical infrastructure facilities. Preliminary reports indicate no casualties. All consequences are being clarified,” Hryhorov concluded.
