Russia, Iran to establish working groups to oversee joint projects
Russia and Iran have agreed to establish specialised working groups for existing joint projects to coordinate efforts and monitor their implementation, the Russian Energy Ministry said following a meeting between Energy Minister Sergey Tsivilev and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.
“The main task is to achieve concrete practical results that will confirm the successful development of a strategic partnership between our states,” the Russian energy minister noted.
The sides discussed the implementation of Russian-Iranian agreements and the expansion of cooperation in energy, the oil and gas sector, industry, the development of international transport corridors, and other areas of the economy.
The meeting also highlighted broad opportunities for cooperation within the BRICS framework, the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO), the Caspian cooperation frameworks, and the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF).
