Russia launches ballistic missile attack on Kyiv, causing fires and injuries
Russia carried out a ballistic missile strike on Kyiv during the night of October 25, resulting in fires, damaged buildings, and several injuries.
The attack was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko and the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration (KGVA), Timur Tkachenko.
Multiple explosions were heard across the capital, and the first reports of the aftermath began to emerge soon after. According to preliminary information, the effects of the attack were recorded in at least two districts — Dniprovskyi and Desnianskyi.
Tkachenko confirmed that fires had broken out in several locations on the city’s left bank as a result of the strike.
Mayor Klitschko later reported that the number of injured had risen to eight. Three of them, including medical workers, were hospitalised in the city's medical facilities.
In recent weeks, Russian forces have intensified their attacks on Kyiv, using drones such as Shahed as well as cruise and ballistic missiles.
Just two nights earlier, on October 23, the Ukrainian capital was targeted by a drone assault. The consequences of that attack were recorded in the Podilskyi, Obolonskyi, and Desnianskyi districts, where residential buildings and gardens were damaged, cars caught fire, and several people were injured.
