Russia launches nighttime missile, drone assault on Ukraine
During the night of November 3, Russian forces conducted a large-scale strike on Ukraine, deploying a combination of advanced missiles and drones, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced.
The attack involved three Kh-47M2 Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles, four Iskander-M ballistic missiles, five S-300/S-400 surface-to-air guided missiles, and 138 attack drones, roughly 80 of which were Shaheds, Caliber.Az reports, citing Ukrainian media.
“According to military data, beginning at 7:00 p.m. on November 2, the enemy launched:
– three Kh-47M2 Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles from the airspace over Russia’s Lipetsk region;
– four Iskander-M ballistic missiles from the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea;
– five S-300/S-400 surface-to-air guided missiles from Russia’s Kursk region;
– and 138 attack drones of the Shahed, Gerbera, and other types from the directions of Kursk, Millerovo, Oryol, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russia).”
By 8:30 a.m., preliminary assessments indicated that Ukrainian air defences had successfully intercepted or neutralized one Kinzhal missile and 115 drones of the Shahed, Gerbera, and other types. Reported strikes occurred across the northern, southern, and eastern regions of Ukraine.
“Missile impacts and drone strikes were confirmed at 11 locations, involving 20 attack UAVs,” the Ukrainian forces added.
