Russia not in need of new mobilisation, lawmaker tells Finnish leader
At present, there is no need for a new wave of mobilization in Russia, Lieutenant General Viktor Sobolev, a member of the State Duma Defense Committee, told News.ru.
He was commenting on remarks by Finnish President Alexander Stubb suggesting the possibility of a general mobilisation.
Sobolev assured that “no mobilisation is planned in the near future,” noting that recruitment of contract soldiers is proceeding successfully.
He added that the Russian Armed Forces must conduct offensive operations to achieve the objectives of the “special military operation.”
The lawmaker also claimed that Europe is conducting “information operations” aimed at prolonging the military operation, given the involvement of all Russian armed forces.
Sobolev added that European countries are preparing both militarily and industrially to impose a conflict on Moscow, and Russia must be ready for this.
