Russia pledges continued humanitarian support to Iran
Russia has said it will continue providing humanitarian assistance to Iran, as the country faces ongoing attacks from Israel and the United States, according to the Russian Foreign Ministry.
At a briefing, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said Moscow would go on supporting the “friendly Iranian people,” who she said had been subjected to severe hardships, Caliber.Az reports per Russian media.
Zakharova also highlighted recent Russian humanitarian deliveries, stating that on the orders of President Vladimir Putin, a Russian Emergencies Ministry Il-76 transport aircraft had delivered an initial shipment of more than 13 tonnes of medicine on March 12.
She said the aid was flown to an airport in an Azerbaijani city near the Iranian border, where it was handed over to Iranian representatives and then transported overland into Iran.
