Russia ready to restore Armenian product imports after sanitary checks
Russia is ready to resume imports of Armenian products if Yerevan provides reports on sanitary inspections, Russia’s Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision (Rosselkhoznadzor) told Izvestia.
“The Rosselkhoznadzor expects from the Armenian side the results of the investigation and information on the measures taken, as well as the algorithm of actions proposed by the Armenian side to comply with the veterinary and phytosanitary requirements of the EAEU,” the agency told the newspaper in response to a question about when Russia would be ready to ease or lift the restrictions.
Problems with supplies of Armenian products to Russia began in late May. Rosselkhoznadzor gradually introduced restrictions on imports of various categories of goods, citing violations of veterinary and phytosanitary requirements.
