Russia repels drone attacks on key gas export routes
Russia’s energy giant Gazprom has reported an escalation of attacks on critical infrastructure in the Krasnodar region since March 17, particularly on facilities that ensure gas exports via the TurkStream and Blue Stream pipelines.
According to a statement published on Gazprom’s Telegram channel, a total of 22 drones attempted to strike the Russkaya compressor station, three targeted the Kazachya station, and one was directed at the Beregovaya station.
All attacks were repelled, and no damage was reported to Gazprom facilities, the company said.
Gazprom had earlier reported similar incidents on March 11, involving the Russkaya, Beregovaya, and Kazachya compressor stations. The following day, the company said it had successfully repelled additional aerial attacks on the Russkaya and Beregovaya facilities.
Russia’s Ministry of Defence stated that Ukrainian forces were targeting Gazprom infrastructure in an attempt to disrupt Russian gas supplies to European consumers.
