Russian air defence forces reportedly shot down 545 aeroplane-type drones and an operational-tactical “Grom-2” missile of the Ukrainian Armed Forces over the past 24 hours, the Russian Ministry of Defence announced.
According to the ministry, cited by TASS, the air defence systems also destroyed 17 rockets fired from U.S.-made HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems. “The air defence systems shot down an operational-tactical ‘Grom-2’ missile, 17 HIMARS rockets, and 545 aeroplane-type unmanned aerial vehicles,” the ministry said.
Earlier today, Russian forces reportedly destroyed 16 Ukrainian drones within a single hour. Military officials stated that six of these drones attempted to attack the Kaluga region, five targeted the Bryansk region, four were shot down over the Moscow region, and one was destroyed in the Tambov region.
In the Rostov region, the drone attacks caused damage to the roofs and windows of residential buildings, ignited two cars, and left one person injured. Additionally, damage to power lines in the Kamensky district disrupted the operation of a water intake and pumping station, leaving several neighbourhoods without water.
In Sudzha, a man was injured during shelling the previous day and was transported in critical condition to the Kursk regional hospital, according to regional governor Khintstein.
