Russia reports massive drone interceptions across multiple regions
Russian air defence forces reportedly intercepted and destroyed 249 fixed-wing drones overnight across 12 regions, the Ministry of Defence announced.
The UAVs were shot down over Belgorod, Bryansk, Vladimir, Kaluga, Kursk, Leningrad, Moscow, Novgorod, Pskov, Smolensk, Tver, and Tula regions, as well as over the Azov Sea.
In Bryansk, two people were injured when a drone strike hit the agro-industrial complex Miratorg in the settlement of Sosnitsa. In Tver, debris from a drone caused a fire in an apartment in a high-rise building in Zubtsov; the blaze has been extinguished, and no injuries were reported.
In Smolensk, authorities temporarily restricted mobile internet services amid the attacks, with no reports of casualties. Kaluga and Tula regions reportedly sustained no injuries or ground-level damage. Officials in other affected regions have yet to comment on the overnight drone activity.
