Russia reports nearly 100 drones downed over Rostov region

Russian air defence forces shot down around 100 drones over 10 districts of the Rostov region overnight, Governor Yury Slyusar said on Telegram, as a drone threat remained in effect across the region.

According to Slyusar, the drones were downed over the Sholokhovsky, Kasharsky, Tarasovsky, Myasnikovsky, Kamensky, Millerovsky, Kuibyshevsky, Chertkovsky, Azovsky and Morozovsky districts.

In the Chertkovsky district, dry grass caught fire after debris from a downed drone fell to the ground, Slyusar said. The fire was reported to have been contained, and no casualties were reported.

The governor said the threat of further drone attacks remained in place and urged residents to exercise caution.
