Russia reports overnight downing of 34 drones across multiple regions
Russia’s Ministry of Defence has announced that its air defence forces intercepted and destroyed 34 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in a series of overnight attacks spanning several regions.
The drone interceptions occurred between 11:20 p.m. on July 30 and 4:00 a.m. on July 31, with the majority targeting areas in southern and central Russia. According to the ministry, 11 fixed-wing drones were shot down over the Volgograd region, seven over the annexed Crimean Peninsula, and five each in the Voronezh and Belgorod regions. Two drones were also downed in both the Tambov and Rostov regions.
The Russian Defence Ministry did not specify the origin of the drones or the intended targets. It also did not report any casualties or damage.
