Russia restricts flights at multiple airports amid drone threats
29 September 2025 09:12
Russia has imposed temporary restrictions on flights at several airports near the capital and in nearby regions, due to security concerns linked to drone attacks.
Zhukovsky Airport, located southeast of the Russian capital, is the latest to be affected by these flight disruptions, Rosaviatsiya, Russia's Federal Air Transport Agency, announced, Caliber.Az reports.
Similar restrictions were previously implemented at regional airports in Kaluga and Tambov.
The measures come in response to an increased risk of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) attacks targeting various regions. On the night of September 29, Alexander Gusev, governor of the Voronezh region, reported that four drones had been shot down over the area.
