Russia's aerial bombing strikes Donetsk’s Kurakhove city, leaving 16 injured
Russia has dropped an aerial bomb on the centre of the town of Kurakhove in the Donetsk Region, resulting in significant casualties.
The announcement was made by the head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration Vadym Filashkin in his Telegram channel, Caliber.Az reports.
According to Filashkin, 16 people were injured as a consequence of the attack. The nature and extent of their injuries are currently being assessed.
"Kurakhove came under fire today at lunchtime - the enemy hit the very centre of the city, damaging at least 15 multi-storey buildings. According to preliminary information, the Russians used a guided aerial bomb," he said.
"Representatives of local authorities, police and rescuers are working at the scene," Filashkin added.
On the night of March 2, the Russian forces launched 17 Shahed-type kamikaze drones at Ukraine, of which the Ukrainian air defence forces shot down 14. One of the kamikaze drones hit a residential building.
On March 2, the Ukrainian army also revealed the number of downed Shahed drones. According to the command, Russian occupants launched 17 drones on the territory of Ukraine at night, eight of which were directed towards Odesa Region, which led to such serious consequences.
