16 February 2026 10:32
Russian Bryansk region experienced one of the largest and most intense unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) assaults seen in the country, regional Governor Alexander Bogomaz said on February 16.
He described the assault as unprecedented, with more UAVs launched in a single day than in any other region of the country, Caliber.Az reports.
The attack, which began on February 15, targeted energy infrastructure, causing power and heating outages in five municipalities and parts of Bryansk city. By evening, authorities had intercepted more than 170 aircraft-type drones.
Bogomaz said that backup power systems were quickly activated, and electricity and heat were restored within three hours.
