14 August 2026 18:25
Russia’s external debt climbed to $313.83 billion as of July 1, 2026, increasing by $6.5 billion, or 2.1%, compared with the beginning of the year, the Central Bank of Russia confirmed.
The increase marks a continued rise in Russia’s external liabilities during the first half of 2026, with the banking sector and other economic sectors accounting for the most significant growth.
“The external liabilities of other sectors and the banking system increased most significantly,” the Central Bank said.
