Russia's foreign ministry accuses Macron of playing dangerous games
French President Emmanuel Macron has been discussing the possibility of deploying military contingents to Ukraine, which has raised concerns among Russian diplomats, TASS reports.
The head of the Russian Foreign Ministry's Second Department for CIS Countries, Alexei Polishchuk, has warned that such talks could lead to dangerous consequences and that politicians who call for military intervention in Ukraine are playing with fire.
Polishchuk also criticized Western politicians who are willing to sacrifice their own countries' national interests for political gain. He believes that they are unaware of the risks of escalation and spreading of the crisis.
According to a Swiss publication called NZZ, there are several possible options for deploying French soldiers in Ukraine. They could be sent to defend Kyiv and Odesa, among other locations.
