Russia’s overnight barrage devastates Dnipro, Kharkiv, six confirmed killed PHOTO / VIDEO
At least six people were killed and dozens more injured after Russian forces launched overnight missile and drone attacks on Ukraine’s Dnipro and Kharkiv regions, according to local authorities and emergency services.
Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration chief Oleksandr Hanzha said the strike in Dnipro left six people dead and 36 others injured.
“Six people were killed. Thirty-six were injured. Among them are children. The enemy attacked five districts of the region with missiles and drones. In Dnipro, apartment buildings were partially destroyed, while an enterprise, a fire station and garages were damaged, and vehicles were destroyed. Six people were killed and 33 injured. A 22-year-old man and a 71-year-old woman are in serious condition. Twenty-four people, including a 16-year-old boy and a 13-year-old girl, were hospitalised with moderate injuries. The rest will receive treatment at home. In Kamianske, an administrative building and apartment blocks were damaged. Three people were injured. A 50-year-old man and two women, aged 49 and 72, were taken to hospital in moderate condition. In the Nikopol district, the district centre, as well as the Krasnohryhorivka, Pokrovske and Marhanets communities, came under attack. Apartment buildings and private homes were damaged. In the Synelnykove district, Russian forces targeted the Vasylkivka community. A disused building caught fire. In the Kryvyi Rih district, the enemy struck the Apostolove community, causing a fire,” Hanzha said.
Meanwhile, 14 people were injured in overnight attacks on Kharkiv and the surrounding region, according to Ukraine’s State Emergency Service.
“Tonight, Russian forces carried out a combined strike on the city of Kharkiv, as well as the Barvinkove, Donetsk, Merefa and Vysokyi communities in the region. Residential buildings, outbuildings, garages, vehicles and other civilian facilities caught fire. Multi-storey apartment buildings and private homes were also damaged. According to preliminary information, 14 people were injured, including one child. State Emergency Service units, National Police officers, medics, volunteers and municipal services worked at the scene,” the Ukrainian emergency service said.
