Russia’s Shoigu arrives in India as BRICS security chiefs convene

Secretary of Russia’s Security Council Sergey Shoigu has arrived in India to participate in a meeting of senior BRICS officials responsible for security matters.

The gathering is scheduled to take place on June 23, according to the press service of the Russian Security Council apparatus, as cited by RIA Novosti.

Participants are expected to discuss ways to strengthen coordination among BRICS countries amid the emergence of a multipolar international order, as well as a range of international and regional security issues.

The Security Council’s press service also said that Shoigu is due to hold several bilateral meetings with the heads of delegations from leading BRICS member states on the sidelines of the event.
