Russia's Ufa city mayor questioned by investigators over sanatorium land sale
Ratmir Mavliev, head of the Ufa City Administration, has been taken to the regional office of Russia’s Investigative Committee for questioning, according to sources cited by Kommersant-Ufa.
Investigative procedures are currently underway at the Investigative Directorate for Bashkortostan, where Mavliev was brought for questioning in connection with a case that may involve the sale of land belonging to the Raduga sanatorium.
Sources familiar with the matter say investigators’ interest in the city mayor is linked to the disposal of the sanatorium’s land plot. In mid-March, local outlet “Prufy” reported that a criminal case had been opened against Aigul Vinnikova, chief executive of ERKC Ufa LLC, who is suspected of fraud related to the same property.
Despite the ongoing investigation, Ufa’s municipal administration continues to operate normally, Deputy Mayor Dmitry Cherenkov told Kommersant-Ufa.
Mavliev has served as head of the Ufa City Administration since March 2022.
