Russia says 108 Ukrainian drones downed in overnight attack

11 February 2026 09:07

Russia’s air defence systems intercepted and destroyed 108 Ukrainian drones during a large-scale overnight attack targeting multiple regions of the country, the Russian Ministry of Defence said on February 11.

According to the ministry, the unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) were shot down during the night of February 10–11 over 12 regions, including the Volgograd, Rostov, Saratov, Astrakhan, Bryansk, Belgorod, Voronezh, Kursk and Tula regions, as well as the republics of Kalmykia, Tatarstan and North Ossetia, and over Crimea.

Several drones were also intercepted over the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov. All the UAVs involved in the attack were described as fixed-wing aircraft-type drones.

The heaviest wave of interceptions was reported in the Volgograd region, where 49 drones were downed, the ministry said. No casualties have been officially reported.

However, regional authorities confirmed several incidents on the ground. In southern Volgograd, a fire broke out at a factory site following a drone strike. In the city of Volzhsky, also in the Volgograd region, a drone fell on the grounds of a kindergarten. No injuries were reported in either case.

In the Rostov region, air defences repelled attacks in 12 cities and districts. In the Tarasovsky district, a power line support was damaged, leaving three private homes without electricity. Officials said no one was injured.

Authorities in the Tula region reported no casualties or damage on the ground. Officials in several other affected regions have yet to comment on the overnight attacks.
