Russia says 196 Ukrainian drones downed across regions, Caspian Sea
Russia’s Ministry of Defence said its air defence systems intercepted and destroyed 196 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones over multiple regions and the Caspian Sea within an eight-hour period on May 21.
According to the ministry, the interceptions took place between 07:00 and 15:00 Moscow time and involved air defence units deployed across a wide geographical area.
“On May 21, from 07:00 Moscow time to 15:00 Moscow time, on-duty air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 196 Ukrainian fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles over the territories of the Belgorod, Bryansk, Kaluga, Kursk, Oryol, Pskov, Samara, Saratov, Smolensk, Tula, and Tver regions, the Moscow region, and over the waters of the Caspian Sea,” the ministry said in a statement.
