Russia says 92 Ukrainian drones intercepted overnight
Russia’s Defence Ministry announced on September 5 that its air defence units intercepted and destroyed 92 Ukrainian aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) during the past night in what it described as a large-scale drone attack.
According to the ministry, drones were shot down across a wide swath of Russian territory. Fifteen UAVs were intercepted over the Bryansk region, 13 over Rostov, 12 over Tula, and 11 over Kaluga. Nine drones were destroyed over Ryazan, while eight were downed over Crimea. Seven UAVs were intercepted in Voronezh, five each over Kursk and Oryol, and two each over Lipetsk and Belgorod. One drone was destroyed over the Smolensk region, the ministry says, Caliber.Az reports.
The Defence Ministry also said that air defence forces intercepted one drone over the Black Sea and another over the Sea of Azov.
The statement did not provide information on casualties or damage resulting from the drone strikes.
