Russia says air defences down nearly 4,800 drones in one week

Russian air defence systems intercepted thousands of aerial targets over the past week, including nearly 4,800 drones, the Defence Ministry said, outlining the scale of recent attacks attributed to Ukrainian forces.
In a statement, the ministry said its air defences had shot down 4,776 fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles, along with multiple categories of missiles and guided munitions.
“Air defence systems shot down 74 guided aerial bombs, 11 rockets from the U.S.-made HIMARS multiple launch rocket system, 4 ground-launched cruise missiles ‘Flamingo’, 3 long-range guided missiles ‘Neptune’, and 4,776 aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicles,” the ministry said.
