Russia says it downed 143 Ukrainian drones in overnight air defence operation

Russia’s Ministry of Defence has said that its air defence systems intercepted and destroyed 143 Ukrainian aircraft-type drones overnight across multiple regions of the country.

In a statement, the ministry said that between 8:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. Moscow time on June 23, air defence units destroyed the drones over several regions, including Kursk, Belgorod, Bryansk, Astrakhan, and Rostov, as well as the Krasnodar and Stavropol territories, the Republic of Crimea, and Adygea, Caliber.Az reports. 

The ministry added that drones were also intercepted over the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov.
