Russia says it foiled planned bomb attacks on law enforcement officers
23 June 2026 09:10
Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB) said it had prevented what it described as two planned terrorist attacks targeting law enforcement officers in the southern city of Pyatigorsk.
In a statement, the FSB said two women were detained while allegedly transporting powerful explosive devices to the city. The agency claimed the operation was carried out on instructions from Ukrainian intelligence services, Caliber.Az reports.
According to the FSB, the women had been recruited in Pyatigorsk and were allegedly being prepared to carry out suicide bombings against law enforcement personnel.
Russia's Investigative Committee said the suspects had traveled from Moscow to Pyatigorsk and were not acquainted with one another.
