Russia says it shot down 173 Ukrainian drones overnight

Russian air defence forces said they intercepted and destroyed 173 Ukrainian drones during an overnight wave of attacks spanning multiple regions of the country, according to the Russian defence ministry.

The claim was made by the press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, which said air defence units “on duty intercepted and destroyed 173 Ukrainian fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles," Caliber.Az reports. 

According to the ministry, the drones were shot down over a wide area covering several regions, including Belgorod, Bryansk, Kaluga, Kostroma, Kursk, Lipetsk, Oryol, Ryazan, Smolensk, Tver, Tula and Yaroslavl, as well as the Moscow region and annexed Crimea.
