Russia says it shot down 519 Ukrainian drones in overnight attacks

Russia's Ministry of Defence said its air defence systems intercepted and destroyed 519 Ukrainian drones during overnight attacks targeting multiple regions across the country and Russian-annexed Crimea.

In a statement posted on the messaging platform Max, the ministry said the drones were shot down over the Belgorod, Pskov, Novgorod, Bryansk, Kursk, Oryol, Tula, Tver, Yaroslavl, Voronezh, Smolensk, Kaluga, Ryazan, Lipetsk, Rostov, Samara, Saratov, Volgograd and Leningrad regions, Caliber.Az reports.

The ministry also said drones were intercepted over the Moscow region, Russia's Krasnodar region, Russian-occupied Crimea, and the Sea of Azov.
