Russia says it shot down 63 Ukrainian drones overnight
Russian military intercepted and destroyed 63 Ukrainian drones between 23:00 and 07:00 Moscow time
The ministry specified that 23 drones were neutralised over Belgorod region, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Russian Ministry of Defence.
It added that 13 drones were destroyed over Bryansk region; six each over Rostov region and North Ossetia; four drones each over Astrakhan and Volgograd regions; two over Kursk region; and one each over Ryazan region, Stavropol Krai, Crimea, and the Sea of Azov.
Ukrainian long-range drone strikes have intensified in early 2026, targeting deeper into Russian territory. Border regions like Belgorod and Bryansk face frequent attacks. Russia routinely reports high interception rates using layered air defences (Pantsir, Tor, Buk systems, electronic warfare, and mobile groups), though independent verification of claims is limited.
