Russia explores ways to support businesses hit by Ukrainian attacks

Russian Prosecutor General Alexander Gutsan has proposed measures to support businesses affected by attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Speaking at a session of the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF), Gutsan said attacks on logistics infrastructure across Russia are aimed at achieving one goal — provoking public discontent, Caliber.Az reports per Russian media.

As a support measure, he proposed introducing a moratorium on inspections of affected businesses in 2027, including inspections conducted by prosecutors.

“I am confident that an effective tool would be to introduce a moratorium in 2027 on the relevant inspections by the authorities empowered to conduct them, including the prosecutor’s offices,” Gutsan noted.

The prosecutor general also proposed deferring or restructuring mandatory payments and establishing preferential periods for small and medium-sized businesses without negatively affecting their credit histories.

Earlier, on August 24, Russia’s Finance Ministry had prepared measures to support businesses affected by Ukrainian drone attacks on facilities belonging to RWB Group, formed through the merger of Wildberries and Russ, as well as measures to ensure the company’s continued operation.

The relevant draft resolutions have been submitted to the government. The measures include deferrals for the payment of certain taxes and insurance contributions, as well as the suspension of inspections.
