Russia, Serbia agree to expand air links to Kaliningrad

Russia and Serbia have agreed to expand bilateral air services by allowing Serbian airlines to operate scheduled flights between Serbian cities and Kaliningrad, Russia’s Ministry of Transport said on September 7.

“The aviation authorities of the two countries have agreed to expand bilateral air services. Designated Serbian airlines will be able to operate scheduled flights from cities in Serbia to Kaliningrad and back,” the ministry said in a statement, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.

The new arrangement is expected to support bilateral cooperation in areas including tourism, culture and business.

Russia’s Transport Ministry said the additional flights would also improve transport links with Kaliningrad, a Russian semi-exclave on the Baltic Sea.
