Russia sets fresh conditions for Armenian agricultural exports

Russia has outlined conditions for the resumption of Armenian agricultural exports to its market following talks between Armenian Economy Minister Gevorg Papoyan and Russian Agriculture Minister Oksana Lut in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

The issue of restoring supplies of Armenian agricultural products to Russia was a key topic of the meeting, according to Russia’s Agriculture Ministry.

The ministry said ensuring the safety and quality of agricultural products entering the Russian market is the main prerequisite for resuming imports.

Among the requirements outlined by the Russian side are the use of domestically sourced raw materials by Armenian producers, stricter controls over pesticide use, full traceability of shipments, and compliance with other mandatory food safety standards.
