Russia signals readiness to continue Armenia railway concession

Russia remains prepared to continue its concession agreement for the operation of Armenia's railway network and has not received any official request from Yerevan to terminate the arrangement, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk has said.

Speaking to reporters, Overchuk emphasized that any issues related to the concession should be addressed through constructive dialogue and consultations rather than public debate, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.

"We believe all these issues should be resolved through consultations and dialogue, in a calm manner. We are ready to continue working and to continue the concession in Armenia," he said.

Overchuk noted that, despite recurring public statements in Armenia regarding the future of the railway concession, the Russian government has not received any formal notification or request seeking to end the agreement.

According to the deputy prime minister, Moscow regularly hears such remarks in the public sphere, but no official communication has been submitted through diplomatic or governmental channels.
