Russia to introduce drone operation training in transport universities
Russia will introduce a basic programme on unmanned transport systems that will become mandatory in all transport-focused universities from September 1, 2026, Transport Minister Andrey Nikitin has announced.
He described workforce training under changing realities as one of the ministry’s key priorities, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
According to him, the Russian University of Transport is among the institutions participating in the development of a new model of engineering education under a presidential decree.
“New specialities and educational programmes in advanced fields are being developed based on the Russian University of Transport. These include intelligent transport systems, digital technologies, and artificial intelligence. They will then be implemented across all our industry universities,” Nikitin noted.
