Russia to open consulate general in Kazakhstan’s Aktau

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin has signed an order to establish a Consulate General in the city of Aktau, expanding Moscow’s diplomatic presence in western Kazakhstan.
According to the government directive, the costs associated with opening and maintaining the new consular facility will be covered by the budget of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
Russia currently operates a consular section at its embassy in Kazakhstan’s capital, Astana. In addition, Consulates General are located in Almaty, Uralsk, and Ust-Kamenogorsk.
