Russia to receive new petrol shipments

06 July 2026 19:19

Authorities in Russia’s Khabarovsk Krai say around 600 tonnes of petrol will be delivered to local fuel stations in July as part of efforts to stabilise regional supplies.

Regional governor Dmitry Demeshin said on Telegram the first tanker, carrying 285 tonnes of fuel, is expected to arrive in the coming days, with an additional 300 tonnes contracted for delivery by the end of the month, Caliber.Az reports.

Demeshin said he had spoken with residents in the town of Okhotsk at a petrol station, where locals reportedly confirmed there were no acute shortages. However, a 30-litre limit per customer has been introduced, along with a temporary ban on refuelling boat engines.

The governor said the restriction would be lifted once new fuel shipments arrive, noting that water transport is essential for travel between settlements in the region.

He said the fuel situation in Okhotsk was under his “personal supervision” and added that steps were being taken to prevent similar shortages in the future, particularly ahead of winter.

Demeshin also inspected regional fuel depots and boiler house reserves, reporting that more than 4,000 tonnes of fuel had already been delivered, with a further 10,000 tonnes en route.

According to him, current and planned supplies are expected to be sufficient to ensure uninterrupted heating and power generation during the autumn and winter period.
