Russia, Türkiye reinforce dialogue on regional security
Russia and Türkiye have discussed cooperation on regional security and joint projects during a series of meetings in Ankara, according to a statement from the Russian embassy.
Russia’s ambassador to Türkiye, Sergey Vershinin, held talks with Türkiye's Minister of Industry and Technology, Mehmet Fatih Kacır, focusing on bilateral cooperation in sector-specific areas.
“The interlocutors exchanged views on the development of Russian-Turkish relations in relevant sectors, with an emphasis on the prospects for implementing joint projects. They agreed to continue cooperation in the interests of intensifying bilateral contacts through relevant agencies and specialised economic operators,” the embassy said on its Telegram channel.
On Thursday, Vershinin also met with Okay Memiş, Secretary General of Türkiye’s National Security Council. The discussions covered “current issues of interaction in the field of regional and international security, [and] confirmed their intention to develop and deepen contacts through the relevant agencies of Russia and Türkiye.”
