Russia, Ukraine report fresh wave of overnight drone attacks VIDEO

Russia and Ukraine reported a new wave of overnight drone attacks, with both sides outlining air defence activity and strikes on infrastructure.

Russia’s Defence Ministry said its air defence systems intercepted and destroyed 209 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones overnight. The ministry said the UAVs were neutralised across multiple regions, including Belgorod, Bryansk, Voronezh, Kaluga, Kursk, Rostov and Ryazan, as well as the Moscow region, the Krasnodar and Stavropol territories, and over the Azov and Black seas.

In an earlier statement, the ministry said Russian forces had struck two bulk carrier vessels and a dry cargo ship delivering supplies for Ukraine’s military to the port of Chornomorsk.

Ukraine, meanwhile, said Russia launched 58 drones against its territory during the night of July 21, including strike UAVs of the Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas and Banderol types, along with decoy drones known as Parodiya.

According to preliminary data, Ukrainian air defences shot down or suppressed 46 of the drones across northern, southern and eastern regions. Authorities reported that eight strike drones hit targets at seven locations.

“The attack continues; several Russian UAVs are in the airspace. Follow safety rules!” the Ukrainian armed forces said.
