Russia, Ukraine report overnight drone, missile attacks PHOTO

15 July 2026 10:07

On July 15, Russia and Ukraine reported fresh overnight aerial attacks, with both sides claiming to have intercepted drones while accusing the other of targeting military infrastructure.

Russia's Defence Ministry said its air defences destroyed 93 Ukrainian drones overnight over several regions, including Belgorod, Bryansk, Kursk, Rostov, the Moscow region and Krasnodar Krai, as well as over the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov.

Ukraine's Air Force, meanwhile, said Russia launched two Kh-59/69 guided air-to-surface missiles and 122 attack drones of various types during the night.

According to preliminary data, Ukrainian air defences shot down or electronically suppressed 101 drones over the country's northern, southern and eastern regions.

The Ukrainian military said missile strikes and impacts from 18 attack drones were recorded at 19 locations, while debris from intercepted drones fell at seven sites. It added that the aerial assault was continuing and reported a renewed Russian air strike on the Odesa region.

Separately, Russia's Defence Ministry said its forces struck Ukrainian port facilities overnight, targeting what it described as logistics supporting the Ukrainian military.

The ministry said four vessels delivering cargo for the Ukrainian Armed Forces were hit in the ports of Chornomorsk and the Dnipro-Buh area. It also said port infrastructure in Odesa and Chornomorsk, fuel storage facilities and drone production and assembly workshops were struck.
