Russia, Ukraine swap 300 prisoners in latest exchange
Russia and Ukraine carried out a new prisoner exchange, with the Russian side returning 300 servicemen and transferring the same number of Ukrainian forces.
The Russian Defence Ministry noted that the United States and the United Arab Emirates acted as intermediaries, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
A prior exchange took place under a “200 for 200” arrangement. Russian Presidential aide Vladimir Medinsky later stated that, “under agreements reached in Geneva,” a total of 500 servicemen from each side are scheduled to be exchanged on March 5 and 6.
Returned Russian servicemen are currently in Belarus, receiving medical and psychological care, after which they will be transported to Russia for further treatment and rehabilitation, the Ministry of Defence added.
