Russia updates military registration, recruitment systems

Russia has been rolling out a large-scale effort to modernise its military recruitment and conscription systems since 2022, according to the country’s defence authorities.

The Russian Ministry of Defence said the initiative is part of a comprehensive project carried out in cooperation with the Moscow city government. The programme focuses on updating military registration processes, improving recruitment for contract service, and streamlining conscription procedures, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media. 

According to the ministry, the project began as a pilot in 2022 and has been implemented with the support of President Vladimir Putin.
