Russia urges citizens to avoid travel to Germany

Russia’s Foreign Ministry has urged its citizens to avoid traveling to Germany unless absolutely necessary, citing repeated cases of what it called rights violations against Russians at German border crossings.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said the recommendation was issued in response to what Moscow describes as numerous incidents involving the infringement of Russian citizens’ rights upon entry into Germany, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media. 

She added that the advisory had been formally published on the official websites of the Foreign Ministry and Russia’s foreign diplomatic institutions.
