Russia, US discuss next round of strategic talks, says MFA spox
Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova announced that representatives from Russia and the United States are currently coordinating the date and venue for the next round of strategic negotiations.
The political framework for resuming the US-Russia strategic dialogue is still in the process of being established, Zakharova said, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
Zakharova emphasised that Moscow recognises a “mutual interest” in addressing the complex web of contradictions in bilateral relations.
She highlighted the ongoing issue of Russian diplomatic property confiscated in the United States, describing its return as a non-negotiable priority for Russia. “Moscow expects the return of these assets,” Zakharova stated, underscoring the significance of resolving this matter.
Additionally, Zakharova expressed optimism about the potential resumption of direct commercial flights between Russia and the United States, suggesting that such a move would symbolise a new phase in bilateral relations and serve as a critical step toward restoring cooperation.
