Russian air defence forces destroy 98 Ukrainian UAVs overnight
Russian air defence forces intercepted and destroyed 98 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) during the night of October 31 to November 1, Russian Defence Ministry said in a statement.
According to the ministry, the operation, which took place between 23:00 Moscow time on October 31 and 07:00 on November 1, saw the majority of the drones being neutralised in the Belgorod region, located near the Ukrainian border, with 45 drones destroyed, Caliber.Az reports.
A further 12 UAVs were downed over the Samara region, while 11 were intercepted over the Moscow region, including six that were reportedly headed towards the Russian capital.
Additionally, air defences neutralised 10 UAVs each over the Voronezh and Rostov regions. Other regions impacted included Tula, Lipetsk, Ryazan, Kursk, and Kaluga, where smaller numbers of UAVs were also destroyed.
