Russian air defence systems intercept over 20 Ukrainian drones across five regions
The Russian Defence Ministry has announced that its air defence systems successfully intercepted and destroyed 22 Ukrainian drones across five regions of Russia on the night of February 27.
"During the past night, air defence forces intercepted and destroyed 22 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles [UAVs]: 8 UAVs over the Oryol region, 7 UAVs over the Kursk region, 4 UAVs over the Bryansk region, 1 UAV over the Smolensk region, and 2 UAVs over the Krasnodar region," Caliber.Az reports, citing the ministry's message on Telegram.
Earlier, Russia’s air defence systems intercepted and destroyed multiple Ukrainian drones. Three drones were shot down over Bryansk Oblast, one over the Republic of Tatarstan, and four over the Black Sea. Additionally, one drone was suppressed over Tula Oblast. Ukrainian drones targeted a refinery in Syzran, Samara region, prompting emergency restrictions in parts of Russia, officials said. According to preliminary reports, there were no casualties.
